ZZJG Goggle Valves Facilitate Safe Blast Furnace Off-Gas Management for Russian Steel Plant

Recently, two fully enclosed goggle valves sized DN1400 and DN800 have been shipped to a large integrated iron and steel smelter in Russia. Designed for isolating blast furnace off-gas on conveying pipelines with a rated working pressure of 3 bar, the custom-built valves act as core safety equipment for hazardous gas containment under blast furnace exhaust service conditions.

Working Condition Compatibility

Blast furnace off-gas is characterized by high dust content, toxicity and flammability. Manufactured in accordance with Standard GB6222, the valves tolerate operating temperatures up to 250°C and effectively inhibit dust sedimentation. The DN1400 variant is configured for main process pipelines, whereas the DN800 unit is used for branch piping. Fabricated from carbon steel, both valve bodies and discs deliver robust mechanical strength and corrosion resistance against erosive tail gas flow.

Three Core Performance Advantages

Zero-leakage Sealing: Featuring a pull-push disc design with proprietary sealing rings, the flat compression structure ensures full face contact between the disc and pipeline flange. Dual special rubber seals withstand continuous service below 250°C and eliminate external gas leakage entirely.

Dust & Wear Resistance: An enclosed drive system paired with an inbuilt sealing face wiper prevents valve seizure, maintaining consistent performance under frequent open-close cycles and lowering long-term maintenance expenses.

Explosion-proof Electric Operation: Fitted with Exd II BT4 explosion-certified motors suitable for hazardous classified environments, the valves support switchable manual or remote actuation for fast emergency shutdown response.

Installation Specifications

Verify field installation dimensions with the end user upfront to customize machining of connection surfaces for precise flange matching during on-site assembly;

Thoroughly clean mounting surfaces of all contaminants to guarantee intact sealing contact;

Complete all electrical wiring strictly per explosion-proof standards and keep wiring routes clear of ignition sources;

Perform no-load trial commissioning to inspect smooth opening and closing travel;

Arrange regular cleaning of sealing surfaces to avert excessive dust accumulation.
