Three‑way Sleeve Plug Valve

The three‑way sleeve plug valve is a high‑performance 90‑degree rotating multi‑channel valve. It is used on various industrial pipelines. It can achieve fluid diversion and mixing. It can also switch the direction of fluid flow. Most ordinary valves have only two channels. This valve integrates three channels into the same valve body. It can replace several independent valves and matching pipe fittings. It can simplify pipeline layout. It can save installation space. It can help the project reduce overall costs.

Working principle

The core component of this valve is a conical plug. The plug has precision‑machined fluid channels. The operator rotates the valve stem. The stem will make the plug rotate 90 degrees. The channels inside the plug will align with different interfaces on the valve body. The flow direction of the fluid will change. This valve has two commonly used channel structures. The two structures are L‑shaped and T‑shaped.

The L‑shaped channel can switch the flow between two pipes. It can connect one inlet to a selected outlet. It simultaneously closes the remaining third interface. We usually use it to switch the flow direction of the fluid. It cannot simultaneously open all three interfaces.

The T‑shaped channel can separate the flow. It can also mix the flow. It can split one flow into two and send it to two outlets. It can combine two incoming flows. The combined flow is then sent out from the same outlet. When the plug is rotated to a specific angle, it can simultaneously connect three interfaces. It can meet the demand for medium distribution in the production process.

There is a set of replaceable sealing sleeves installed between the plug and the valve body. The sleeves are usually made of PTFE or modified fluoroplastics. The sleeves can achieve 360‑degree tight sealing. When the valve is working normally, we do not need to add additional sealing grease. The sleeves can reduce the friction resistance during the rotation of the plug. The sleeves can protect the metal plug. The fluid will not directly erode and wear the plug surface.

It can also convey media with fine solid particles. The internal cavity surface of the valve is smooth. The medium is not prone to accumulation. The medium is also not prone to crystallization or agglomeration inside the valve.
